DA 50 Installation
When installing the DA 50 engine, you will need to use 3" standoffs available from Desert Aircraft.
Balancing the Model
Step 1 on page 40 of the manual
The first sentence should read "On both sides of the fuselage, measure back 5" from the leading edge at the fuselage and mark both places with a felt-tipped pen."
Engine mounting dimensions
Mounting any of the recommended engines in the Extra 260 is pretty straight forward and should not present any major difficulties.
When installing either the Saito 220a, the Evolution 35GT or any engine that uses the supplied Hangar 9 beam mounts please use the reference lines on the firewall of the model to properly locate the engine's crankshaft with the center of the cowling. The engine can be moved fore and aft to achieve proper spinner spacing as well.
The dimension shown on page 20, step 6 of the manual that references 2 7/16" should be 2 9/16". 2 9/16" is the correct dimension. This has created some confusion but the reference lines on the firewall are in the correct location and should be used for reference when installing your engine.
