For the first time, new pilots can learn to fly on an airplane that actually looks cool. No more blocky trainers you have to relegate to the attic the moment you're ready to move up to something more challenging.
Clear plastic NACA droops that attach to the leading edges of the wing, specially configured fixed landing gear with speed brakes and preset 2-position flaps are especially designed to help a beginning pilot learn how to fly while having fun. After you've mastered the basics, just remove the droops and speed brakes and neutralize the flaps. Now you've got a smooth-flying sport plane able to fly a variety of aerobatics such as loops, spins and snap rolls.

JR Radio
JR SPORT´s preinstalled SX600 6-channel computer radio system provides all of the
features you need, including superb precision available only through digital technology.
And its easy-to-read screenalong with intuitive, dual rocker–switch inputs–will help
you become a programming whiz in no time.

Trainer Power System
The preinstalled Evolution Trainer Power System includes an exclusive flywheel
feature for easy starts and reliable idles, as well as SetRight needle valves
for foolproof engine adjustments. No break in, tuning, running or engine
expertise is needed. Plus, the special 3-bladed prop is devised to reduce air
speed to increase reaction time during training.

TrainerLink & Simulator
The P-51 Mustang PTS includes TrainerLink, which links the included JR radio
system to the flight instructor's transmitter, FS One Solo Precision RC Flight
Simulator Software to practice flying on a PC before hitting the flying
field, and a step-by-step easy-to-follow instructional DVD to supplement the included manual.

Progressive Trainer System Features |
| NACA Droops: The clear plastic NACA droops attach to the outer leading edge of the wing to help stabilize the Mustang. They also manipulate the stock airfoil to produce added lift, making tip stalls and spins impossible. After training is complete, remove the droops to transform the trainer into a fun sport plane.
Flaps:
Flaps come in two preset positions, but can be later upgraded to functioning flaps with the addition of one servo.
| Fixed Landing Gear and Speed Brakes:
Unlike most warbirds, this P-51 offers fixed landing gear with removable speed brakes to help slow the airplane's flight, making it easier to learn. The landing gear is specially configured to handle better than other trainers and avoid noseovers.
Wing and Tail:
The wing and tail sections bolt and slide together easily for convenient transport and storage. No gluing is necessary.

"One more example of Hangar 9's leading-edge thinking... the best plane I've ever
flown to practice spot landings. Within minutes, (my basic students) were
performing graceful figure eights and low passes ten feet above the runway. (We)
enjoyed flying the P-51 Mustang PTS, and I'm confident anyone who flies this great-looking
plane will too." David Scott,
1st U.S. R/C
Flight School.
